Ok
It's the more recent equivalent of Oscar Peterson's work with Ella Fitzgerald.
Too bad we didn't see the entire IV with Clint. The album Tony & Bill made is one of my all-time favorites. It should be in everyone's collection/playlist. ❤️🎶🎹🎙️
Sublime music from this partnership. Thank you Bill and Tony.

FANTASTIC!
My all time favourite, saw Bill and his trio (Marc and Joe) in a snowstorm in February 1980 in Philadelphia with 6 people in the audience and was in Europe when he passed away. I took a 90 minute cassette of Village Vanguard Sessions with me and my Greek aunts loved it 💗
Brilliant album i have had it for about 20 years.Evans one of the great piano players of all time died way too young.
Where is the full interview of this??
Mesmerizing with a beautiful sound and touch. Thanks Chavrik.
such a gentle soul was Tony, in addition to all his great musical gifts. RIP
Glad i finally heard this . Hard rocking stuff but must every entrance be ugly hardrough pianosound like a damn drum .Reminds one of Thelonious immediately : again like monk too damn percussive though. When will jazz pianists learn that every attack and touch is a gesture like a word and sfzorzando is only one of many . Just sounds like a lotta wildness after a minute .
Rumour has it, at the end of things, he shot up into his hand. Look at how fat his left hand is.
Ok b
Why do we need Martin Scorsese here?
You click bait ahole - "Bill Evans with Tony Bennett on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show 10/27/75" and we get like 10 seconds of it
two beautiful souls
Johnny Carson: "Tony singing with a piano, which most singers would not want to attempt." Evidence supports this statement. And the same goes for solo instrumentalists. Besides Bill Evans and Oscar Peterson, what other pianists embarked on such a project? Please, anyone? It would be wonderful to make a collection and list of such duos. Even include duos such as Joe Pass (GUITAR) and Ella Fitzgerald. Let us see what the research yields.
He was always second to Sinatra
Gold - a shame the recording wasn't filmed, but we must grateful for this.
Have no Tony Bennett albums. However, Bill Evans I have quite a few of his albums. Bill Evans one of the greatest jazz pianist of all time.
Evans, a completely extraodinary musician....his voicings and positioning are off the scale.
Still Magic
Tony did everything.
QUIT TAKKING ONER THE MUSIC
The incomparable Tony Bennett now sings with the angels. He gave us 70 years of music and left the world a better place. #RIPTonyBennett

I think Lennie Tristano sat out of a session at the Half Note with Lee Konitz, Warne Marsh, Jimmy Garrison and Paul Motian. Bill reluctantly sat in. The albums has been resold as Lee Konitz as leader. Bill struggled to play behind Lee. He sat out. I think that was recorded in 1959.
2:47 Bill Evans played with Miles. Bennet is a day off by comparison.
Billy Evans is one of my idols
What a delight! I've loved both Bill Evans & Tony Bennett for more than 60 years now. And I can't believe I'd never realized that they had worked together. I was also a big fan of Johnny Carson, and Clint Eastwood's jazz oriented work, but this is all news to me today. Living under a uniquely configured rock here in the LA area, I guess. BTW, I've enjoyed rolling through the comments here -- mostly a lot of love, but some typical "my guy is better than your guy" horseshit scattered here and there.
R.I.P. Tony, the likes of you will never pass this way again.🙏
Bill Evans is one of the greatest musicians that ever lived and my absolute favorite jazz pianist.
Bill Evans, Miles Davis, The Cannonball, 'Trane, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb. Perhaps one of the greatest jazz collaborations ever recorded. The music will forever linger on. 🎹
I wish "Dirty Harry" had shown a more of this side of himself, instead of making racist/violence movies. I know: laughed all the way to the bank.
Yet another example of less giving you more.
Tony lost his toned voice along the way ( too many gigs-traveling, etc.) What a difference the years make as T.B. sound was like a Stradivarius violin quality until the mid-late 80's. Same reality with Englebert and Julio. They should timely retire .But remain addicted performers.
The partnership with Evans was amazing...Evans is my favorite jazz pianist of all time.
Bill Evans never competes with another player in a song, never seems to say "But wait! Look at ME!"
It was the only singer Bill ever accompanied. That says a lot about Tony Bennett. I wish though Bill had done a lot more in that format. He s such a great accompanist
There was one other……
@@rogerdsmithHer name was Monica Zetterlund, she was a Swedish legendary singer.
I had the privilege of playing violin with his show in St. Louis for a week years ago. He would come backstage and eat and talk with us-a wonderful human being as well as performer.
Shit I love this so so much but if they dropped a Bass and a drummer........what would this have been in musical history? 20/10

Had the pleasure of seeing Tony Bennett at the Del Mar Fair in the mid 80’s. Fantastic performance!
